NAGANO, Japan -- Russia's Maria Butyrskaya pulled out of the World Figure Skating Championships on Friday, two days after a disappointing sixth-place finish in qualifying.
A media advisory released by the International Skating Union said Butyrskaya is "suffering from physical and emotional fatigue."
The women's short program is Friday and the final is Saturday.
Butyrskaya, the 1999 world champion, finished sixth in the Salt Lake City Olympics. |
