COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Cammi Granato, a star on two U.S. Olympic hockey teams, was among 19 players selected Tuesday by USA Hockey to compete in the Women's World Championships. Forward Granato, whose brother, Tony, coaches the Colorado Avalanche, will lead the women's team in the competition in April in Beijing. Also chosen were defensemen A.J. Mleczko, Nantucket, Mass.; Angela Ruggiero, Harper Woods, Mich.; Lyndsay Wall, Churchville, N.Y.; Winny Brodt, Roseville, Minn.; Gen Richardson, Monroe, Conn.; Kerry Weiland, Palmer, Alaska, and Meredith Roth, Dubuque, Iowa; The other forwards are Julie Chu, Fairfield, Conn.; Natalie Darwitz, Eagan, Minn.; Tricia Dunn, Derry, N.H.; Andrea Kilbourne, Saranac Lake, N.Y.; Katie King, Salem, N.H.; Shelley Looney, Brownstown Township, Mich.; Jenny Potter, Eagan, Minn.; Jessica Tabb, Holland, Mass.; Kim Insalaco, Rochester, N.Y., and Kristin King, Piqua, Ohio. In goal will be Pam Dreyer, Eagle River, Alaska, and Chanda Gunn, Huntington Beach, Calif.
