LAS VEGAS -- Washington Wizards center JaVale McGee has been added to Team USA's training camp roster, bringing the number of players who will begin practicing Tuesday to 22 in preparation for the 2010 World Championship in Turkey, USA Basketball officials said Monday.
McGee, who practiced with Team USA in a minicamp last summer, received an invite to camp after averaging 19.5 points and 9.3 rebounds for the Wizards during the Las Vegas Summer League.
He will be the fourth center on the 22-man minicamp roster, joining Brook Lopez of New Jersey, Tyson Chandler of Dallas and Robin Lopez of Phoenix.
The roster is expected to be cut to 15 or 16 players prior to the start of training camp Aug. 9 in New York, and to 12 before Team USA opens pool play at the world championship against Croatia on Aug. 28.
