LAS VEGAS (AP) Ryan Clement led Las Vegas to 22 straight points, and the Outlaws used a stingy defense to beat the Birmingham Bolts 34-12 Saturday night.
The Las Vegas defense allowed just 17 rushing yards and 95 passing yards. at Sam Boyd Stadium in front of an announced crowd of 23,558.
Clement passed for 104 yards and three touchdowns, while
completing 13 of 22 passes. The Outlaws (4-3) created three
turnovers, had seven quarterback sacks and immobilized Birmingham
(2-5) after it tied the game at 12 with 9:06 left in the third
quarter.
Las Vegas went ahead for good when Rickey Brady caught a 10-yard
pass from Clement with 5:26 left in the third quarter.
Moments later, Birmingham's Jay Barker fumbled the ball away at the Bolts' 22-yard line, and two plays later it was Clement once again, this time finding Yo Murphy for a 2-yard touchdown strike.
