ESPNOutdoors.com had a chance to talk to UFC World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar at the Federal Premium Ammunition booth at the 2009 Shooting Hunting Outdoor Trade Show.
Lesnar, a professional mixed-martial arts fighter has also been a NCAA National Collegiate wrestling champion and we were curious just how he came to show up to the SHOT show.
ESPNOutdoors.com: Obviously you're sponsored by Federal Premium, but does anything else bring you to the SHOT Show? Are you a hunter?
Brock Lesnar: I am a hunter. That's why there's a connection between me and Fusion and Federal Ammunition. I'm an avid hunter, I've hunted my whole life.
What do you hunt, when you hunt?
I hunt whitetail, I hunt pheasants, I hunt duck, I hunt geese. Mostly I hunt whitetail. Mule deer — I like muley hunting.
You're from the Dakotas, right?
I'm from Webster, South Dakota.
Oh, there's everything there. Good fishing, hunting. It's a good area.
Have you had a chance to look around?
I haven't had a lot of opportunity to walk around. That's what I'm going to do this evening. I'm always amazed at the new technology that comes out, with the optics and the firearms. The optics is always amazing to me, so that's something I'm going to get over and take a look at.
Brock Lesnar will next be defending his UFC World Heavyweight Championship against No. 1 Contender, Frank Mir.
