Who will the Classic?
Everybody has an opinion, even Major League Baseball players.
ESPNOutdoors.com polled a few of those who would rather be casting for bass than running drills in spring training. In their spare time they play Fantasy Fishing, so we asked them who they think is the odds-on favorite.
Wes Helms, 3B, Philadelphia Phillies
"Steve Kennedy is going to win. I'm sorry to see there isn't anyone from my home state North Carolina in the finals, so I have to go with the guy from Auburn, Alabama, since I reside near there now."
Kyle Davies, starting pitcher, Atlanta Braves
"Terry Scroggins. He had a strong start in 2006 and then fell off a bit, so I'm expecting him to come through with a big victory early in 2007."
Brian Moehler, starting pitcher, Houston Astros
"Kevin VanDam. He's the fisherman that always goes crazy, right? I love the passion."
Kevin Barry, relief pitcher, Atlanta Braves
"Definitely Michael Ianconelli. I've got to go with Michael, because we're both from New Jersey. It's all about the local guy. Michael is going to go out there and prove that there are good fresh water fisherman from New Jersey."
McKay McBride, relief pitcher, Atlanta Braves
"Kevin VanDam. I'm going with the underdog."
