What's wrong with Jason Kidd and the Nets? What's with the recent eunuch-like performances of the Pacers? And why have the Pistons, the early-season surprise of the 2002-2003 campaign, been even worse? Page 2's NBA guru, Charley Rosen, dissects the shocking collapse of the three Eastern Conference leaders ... and suggests some possible remedies.

The Daily Quickie A Real-Life "Hoosiers"
Will the last NFL player to desert the desert please turn out the lights? The Daily Quickie doubts Jake Plummer will thrive in Denver, but says David Boston will give the Chargers the AFC's best WR-RB combo. The DQ also cheers KG and Robert Horry and projects the future for Kobe and other NFL free agents.
For some Cinderellas, the Big Dance is already here. Right now, hundreds of high school teams are trying to recreate the movie "Hoosiers" by knocking off the big-city boys in the state tourney. Jim Caple attended a school a lot like Hickory ... and he went to see his squad shoot for a miracle.

THE CLIPPERS WIN IT ALL IN 2004
Maybe there is hope for Clippers fans like Bill Crystal. Sure, the Clips just fired their coach and sit firmly atop Page 2's list of the 10 worst franchises in sports. But, by June 2004, the Clips could be world champs. Before you demand a drug test of the Page 2 staff, check out Chad Ford's scenario.

March is the month for stunners, shockers and amazing upsets in the world of basketball. That caused Page 2 to think about the 10 most shocking moments in hoop history. Check out our top 10 and then vote in the poll to pick the top stunner ever.

10]  Chaminade upsets Virginia
On Dec. 23, 1982, Chaminade, a Honolulu college with a student body of 800, defeated No. 1 ranked Virginia -- complete with the nation's best player, Ralph Sampson -- 77-72. How big of an upset was it? So big that most news outlets didnšt run the story without an unusual amount of scrutiny for a straightforward game report. "We were dumbfounded," said the late Tom Mees, who sat at ESPN's SportsCenter desk when the news came over the wire. "Nobody had heard of Chaminade then. I asked them to double-check it."
9]  U.S. men "lose" in Munich
In the most controversial finish in international basketball history, the Soviet Union stunned the United State 51-49, benefitting from time being put back on the clock on two different occasions in the final seconds.
8]  Wilt scores and scores and scores
Maybe "shocking" isnšt the right word to describe Wilt's revelations about his sex life in "A View from Above," his 1991 autobiography. "Sensational" is a good word. It works in a couple of ways. "Perplexing" also works. As in, was 20,000 really possible?
