The 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team was great -- but beating the Russians made it even greater. Bill Mazeroski's homer was epic -- but it became legendary because it toppled the Yankees. For every good guy in sports, we need a bad guy to root against. That's why Page 2 is dedicating this week to our favorite heroes and villains.

A lot of bad things have been said about Saddam Hussein over the years. However, it wasn't until this week that Iraqi dictator was accused of decorating his palace in "wall art that runs heavy on the theme of masturbatory adolescence." Page 2's Brian Murphy ponders the day it became OK to joke about the war in Iraq at the Water Cooler.

The Daily Quickie Let's get naked
Was Allen Iverson's 55-point effort last night more impressive than MJ's 63 in 1986? Who's really running the Bronx Zoo? Are the T-Wolves done already? And what's the best quote ever from a sports movie? You know who's got the answers to all these riddles. That's right, it's Page 2's Daily Quickie.
When you think of bowling, you probably think of fat guys in monogrammed shirts who look a lot like Homer Simpson. Page 2's Hunter S. Thompson thinks of "extremely naked women with huge breasts implants and fake lips." Yes, the Good Doctor has discovered naked bowling.

THE SMARTEST GUY IN THE NBA
Adonal Foyle isn't a household name. He's not playing in the NBA playoffs. He can't jump like Kobe or score like Iverson. Yet he might be the most interesting player in professional basketball. Page 2's Eric Neel recently spent an afternoon with the Warriors forward and found that Foyle knows about a lot more than just hoops.

We all have our favorite athletes. You know, the ones we'll talk about for the rest of our lives. Are they worthy of Page 2's list of the greatest sports heroes of all time? Check out our list and vote for your hero or tell us who we forgot.

10]  1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team
The "Miracle on Ice" not only took down the world's best en route to the gold medal, but they made everything look brighter in a nation suffering through a "national malaise."
9]  Billie Jean King
King was the best tennis player of her time, and one of the all-time greats. She fought for equal prize money -- and got it. Isn't that right, Mr. Riggs?
8]  Joe DiMaggio
Despite what has been written lately of the Yankee Clipper, almost every fan can agree that his fame and heroic stature may be equaled, but never topped.
