When Halle Berry insists she's so ugly even the tide won't take her out, when Bill Parcells says he won't use the star system with the Cowboys, when laid-back Jack Nicholson wants to play sixth man for the Lakers, Page 2 starts to wonder: What the heck are they thinking? And what was going on with Madonna on live MTV, anyway?
WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY THINKING?

Page 2's Eric Neel says if you can't stand the San Antonio heat at the Global X Games, then get into the Alamo Dome and groove it on out with Alien Ant Farm and Social Distortion. But the X-scene marriage of motion and music isn't easy. It takes a mastery of space and time to chill with these people.

Kidd Stuff Lacy's Legacy
Say what you will about Western dominance. Page 2's Ralph Wiley says the NBA's most important player is the Kidd in the East. And, as Sportoon suggests, that's especially true now that the Lakers have time on their hands.
When Sam Lacy passed away earlier this week, we lost more than a legendary sports writer. ESPN's David Aldridge says we lost a true hero, a man who helped pave the way for future generations to live in a better world.

THE DAILY QUICKIE
As soon as Magic Johnson went on the air last night and questioned the Lakers' heart, the Daily Quickie knew to put away his 'Four-peat' t-shirt. Plus, Wimbledon without Pete and the Angels without Disney.

Dave DeBusschere, who died Tuesday at 62, was a true rarity in the sports world, an athlete who excelled in two sports -- baseball and basketball. Dave's in pretty impressive company, so in his honor we give you Page 2's greatest multi-sport athletes of all time:

10]  Ellsworth Vines
We know what you're thinking -- who? OK, try this. After the 1936 Wimbledon champs' tennis career ended, Vines turned to golf and played on the PGA Tour for 15 years.
9]  Goose Tatum
The first great "Clown Prince" of basketball, Tatum played for the Harlem Globetrotters from 1946-56. However, Goose got his start in baseball, playing for several barnstorming teams.
8]  Marion Jones
We all know about Jones' triumphs in track and field, but let's not forget about her exploits on the basketball court, including a national title with UNC in 1994 and being an All American in 1997.

THE SPORTS GUY
Bill Simmons has all the movers, shakers, losers and fakers from the NBA playoffs in his annual stock watch.

THE LIST
When someone hits 500 homers, they're in the Hall, right? Page 2's Tim Keown thinks Fred McGriff could challenge that rule.

MICKEY VS. MINN
Page 2's Nick Bakay compares the offerings of Disneyland to those of the Mall of America.

PGA PIG TOUR
There's nothing more annoying to Page 2's Jason Whitlock than a black man of influence forgetting where he came from. Are you listening Vijay?

AT THE MOVIES
Summertime means movies, movies, movies! And Page 2's Eric Immerman is here to provide the 411.
