AKRON, Ohio -- In a move that shocked the basketball world, consensus No. 1 NBA draft pick LeBron James has quit hoops to pursue a career in "memorabilia sales," according to an eBay spokesperson. James, who was featured recently on an ESPN2 telecast, reportedly made $1.35 million in profits on eBay auctions alone last month, making basketball "expendable."

Selling goods on eBay is so much safer for LeBron James.
"I'm just having much more fun on eBay making money for myself," says James. "And it's safer. You can't roll an ankle or blow your Achilles tendon on eBay."

James says he has "many new items" posted each hour, including the following "highlight" items:

  • Authentic restaurant-used salad fork, $79.99

  • Authentic classroom-used pencil, $48.99

  • Authentic signed McDonalds Big N' Tasty wrapper from the floorboard of my Lincoln Navigator, $112.00

  • My Lincoln Navigator, $987,000

  • Sonny Vaccaro's first-born son, $1.2 million (certificate of authenticity included)

  • Phil Knight's dignity, $3.5 million

The basketball star also mentioned that he will be auctioning off his mother and biological father, "probably next week," and that the bidding will start "around a hundred thousand for both" or $400,000 to "Buy it Now." Interested buyers can look for James' authentic items under the screen name "balla187."
