| Woods, Jeter clash for LMA title Page 2 staff | ||
You, the readers, have spoken. It's official: The two luckiest guys in the world are Tiger Woods and Derek Jeter. But now you need to help us figure out the only question that means anything to either of these highly competitive guys, who are both all about winning major championships: Who's No. 1? The polls -- at right -- will remain open through Friday morning, when the winner of Page 2's first annual Luckiest Man Alive tournament will be determined ... except in the state of Florida. Page 2 would also like to take this opportunity to thank the seedings committee, who in years past have been the butt of many bad jokes and the object of vilification in newspaper columns, magazine stories and TV specials for their lousy seeds. This year, seedings went almost exactly to form, with only a single mild upset (No. 5 Sampras edging No. 4 Andre Agassi in the first round). Alllll-righty, then.

The guy introduced Tiger to the sport when he was nine months old and had him putting on the "Mike Douglas Show" at age 2. We'd call that just a tad overbearing. ... At some point, winning all those tournaments has got to get a little bit boring. ... Green jackets don't go with anything. ... His hairline is starting to retreat like Phil Mickelson in the final round of a major. ... He has been named to the list of People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People" twice. ... He signed a 10-year, $189 million contract in February 2001. Why we wouldn't want to be this dude: Mariah has seemed less than stable since he dumped her. ... One of his best friends (Alex Rodriguez) is the only person in baseball who makes more money than he does. ... He looked pretty uncomfortable in front of the camera during his stint on "Saturday Night Live" last year -- especially during that skit where he wore a dress. ...
