Page 2's Power Poll dares to rate the teams that are currently wielding the most power in the entire sports universe.

Each week, our poll will rate the 10 teams at the top of the power heap -- and the five teams that have lost the most power in the past week. And, by the way, Page 2 uses its own definition for a "team" -- any group of two or more bonded together for the common purpose.

Our Momentum Meter also predicts the direction these teams will be heading in future weeks (see the bottom of the page for a full explanation).

TEAM	PAGE 2 SAYS	MO' METER

1. Los Angeles Lakers	Thirteen wins in a row. Maybe celibacy is helping Shaq's performance on the court.


2. St. Louis Blues	Their only complaint was Game 7 of Avs-Kings series didn't go overtime.


3. San Antonio Spurs	They've won a title without Derek Anderson before, so why worry?


4. Cleveland Indians	Winners of 10 in a row, Tribe has outscored opponents 86-33 during streak.


5. Monarchos and his connections	Point Given who?


6. Golf superstars	Gotta admit, we'd watch if Annika Sorenstam played Tiger Woods.


7. NHL top seeds	Avs and Devils survived, but lost aura of invincibility.


8. Cursed baseball teams	Red Sox and Cubs still hanging around as division leaders.


9. Milwaukee Bucks	Before writing off East, remember Bucks went 4-0 vs. Lakers and Spurs.


10. Seattle Mariners	Starting to look human, but still own baseball's best record.

3. University of Washington football		Is this Miami of the 1990s? Former LB Jeremiah Pharms accused of stealing pot and pistol whipping a drug dealer, and TE Jerramy Stevens cited for reckless driving and causing property damage at a nursing home.


2. MLB's defending division champs		Signs of life from Giants and Cards, but nobody's meeting expectations.


1. New York Knicks		Only David Stern is sadder than Knicks about New York's ouster.
