Page 2's XFL Survivor:
Where reality bites

Poll Results

How's this for trendy? We've combined the XFL with television's most popular reality-based show, "Survivor."

Every Tuesday on Page 2, we'll vote one team out of the new eight-team football league until we're left with a "champion" five weeks from today. That way, you won't have to suffer through the league's 10-week regular season and then the playoffs to determine the last team standing.

And we're also letting the readers of Page 2 make the arguments for why a certain team should either stay or go.

Last week, you booted the Chicago Enforcers off the island. Here's a look at the league after the third weekend:

Birmingham Bolts (2-1)

Why they should go: Their name is a vague reference to the San Diego Chargers. The San Diego Chargers are a vague reference to a pro football team.
-- Dan, Davenport, Iowa

Why they should stay: I haven't had such a good time watching a QB getting pulverized until the Bolts' Casey Weldon came along. Be it his apparent disregard for his well-being, or that his offensive line wants him dead, but the Bolts must "survive" so we can keep asking, "How does he keep gettin' up?"
-- Dale Bradt, Troy, N.Y.

Los Angeles Xtreme (2-1)

Why they should go: L.A. couldn't even stay interested in the NFL. Also, Tommy Maddox is a thoroughbred loser. He's one of the few QBs in the XFL who's had plenty of shots in other leagues (he was supposed to replace John Elway), and yet he still can't even hack it in the XFL.
-- Jason Wilford, Mercersburg, Pa.

Why they should stay: They seem to be the only team that is able to follow the script. Three games all decided on the last play of the game, just like Vince McMahon intended it to be.
-- Matt Kanetsky, Ohio

Las Vegas Outlaws (2-1)

Why they should go: Based on reaction from the Baltimore Ravens and the Super Bowl, good defense bores the public. The Outlaws haven't allowed a touchdown yet. Not a good sign for the league. Also, their uniforms remind me of New Orleans, and when have the Saints ever won anything (not counting games against St. Louis)?
-- J. D. Strassberg, Ithaca, N.Y.

Why they should stay: We all know the most popular XFLer is gonna lead the Las Vegas Outlaws to victory in XFL Survivor. He may think that everyone's against him, but the truth is we all love He Hate Me. One of the few redeeming aspects of a suspect league.
-- Adam Jacobs, Atlanta

San Francisco Demons (2-1)

Why they should go: Puh-leeezzee! These guys are 2-1 while allowing 45 points and scoring only 42. They barely squeeeeezed by the woeful Maniax, scoring all of their 13 points in the second half and allowing 255 yards total offense while producing 227. It was the defense's three picks against the inept 'Ax offense that gave the Demons any hope.
-- Bryce H., Las Vegas

Why they should stay: The Demons have one of the coolest logos in the XFL. Their team is way better than their record proves, but they just need more time to settle in. Their cheerleaders also show us the most skin out of any team.
-- Brandon Chistakoff, Tremont, Pa.

Memphis Maniax (1-2)

Why they should go: If the Maniax don't get kicked off pronto, I will stop viewing this website. I can't look at those uniforms any longer. I know they will continue to play regardless, but we need to vote them off to show that we, as a nation, do not approve of sea foam green as a color.
-- Rob Razzano, Cincinnati

Why they should stay: I think that the Memphis Maniax are going to step up sometime soon. I believe they are the second-best team behind the Outlaws. They are just not playing well right now. They will last almost until the end of this thing.
-- Roman, Niceville, Fla.

Orlando Rage (3-0)

Why they should go: I think it's time for the Orlando Rage to go, they have ugly jerseys and last time I checked the Incredible Hulk was green, not some ugly orange thing.
-- Jeremy Chase, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Why they should stay: The games lack a lot of talent, but when you put the Rage on the field with arguably the best quarterback not in the NFL (Jeff Brohm) it makes it a bit more interesting.
-- Chris Bishop, Louisville, Ky.

Chicago Enforcers (voted off after Week 2)

Why they're gone: Say goodbye to the Enforcers. Anytime a team is No. 1 in the league in scoring, yet is still winless on the year, it deserves to be kicked off the island.
-- DP Buck, Stanford, Calif.

N.Y./N.J. Hitmen (voted off after Week 1)

Why they're gone: If we want an inept, bumbling offense from New York that's not going to score any points, we'll take the Giants.
