Venturini could be released later this week

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- ARCA driver Billy Venturini, who
broke his neck in a race at Daytona International Speedway, was
moved out of intensive care Wednesday.
He was listed in stable condition at the Carolina Medical Center
in Charlotte, N.C., and could be released from the hospital later
this week.
Dr. Jerry Petty ruled out additional surgery for now, but said
Venturini should begin rehabilitation soon.
Venturini was injured in a 13-car accident two laps from the
finish of Saturday's Advance Discount Auto Parts 200. He had
surgery to fix a fractured vertebrae and damaged ligaments.
