Foye picks Villanova over Seton Hall

Top 100 guard Randy Foye of Newark-East Side, N.J., is headed to Villanova over Seton Hall.

The Wildcats earlier gained Top 100 verbals from guard Allan Ray of Bronx-St. Raymond's, N.Y., and forward Curtis Sumpter of Brooklyn-Bishop Loughlin, N.Y. Top 100 forward Jason Fraser of Amityville, N.Y., is considering Villanova, North Carolina, St. John's and Louisville.

Top 100 forward Julian Terrell of Antioch/Ezell-Harding, Tenn., has chosen Vanderbilt over Alabama. Terrell averaged 17 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks as a junior.

Matt Trannon, a Top 100 forward from Flint-Northern, Mich., is near a decision between expected Michigan State and Michigan. Trannon, who also considered Missouri, Florida and Tennessee, among many others, is expected to sign a football scholarship as a receiver and play both sports.

Top 100 forward/center Ike Diogu of Garland, Texas, who averaged 17 points and 12 rebounds as a junior, is near a decision between UConn, Illinois and Arizona State.

Early Class 2002 Top 100: Eighty-three prospects have already verballed from the Top 100 List. The early signing period is Nov. 14-21.

Early Class 2002 Rankings: Duke leads the Top 25 Classes.

LSU has commitments from forwards Tim Bush of Marrero-Shaw, La., who also considered Miami-Florida, Oklahoma, Boston College and Tulane; and Mildon Ambres of Opelousas, La.

The Wisconsin Badgers have a commitment from forward Jason Chappell of New Berlin, Wis./Worcester Academy, Mass., over Rhode Island and South Carolina.

Cal State-Sacramento has a commitment from guard DeShawn Freeman of Berkeley-St. Mary's, Calif.

Missouri-Kansas City has a commitment from guard Charlie McDonald of St. Joseph's-Lafayette, Mo.

Albany verballed forward Levi Levine of Cheshire Academy, Conn.

Louisiana Tech verballed forward Jeremy Johnston of Bossier City-Airline, La.

New Orleans has a commitment from forward Maurice Jackson of Vincennes CC, Ind./Odessa JC, Texas.

Wagner pledged forward Matt Vitale of Brooklyn-St. Edmond's, N.Y.

Santa Clara pledged guard Brandon Rohe of Rancho Santa Margarita-Santa Margarita, Calif.

Cornell has a verbal from guard Lenny Collins of Rancho Santa Margarita-Santa Margarita, Calif.

LaSalle pledged forward Hilton Armstrong of Peekskill, N.Y.

Oklahoma has its ninth verbal in offensive/defensive lineman Chris Messner of Frederick, Okla.

Receiver/tight end Matt Trannon of Flint-Northern, Mich., is near a decision between expected Michigan State and Michigan. Trannon, who also considered Missouri, Florida and Tennessee, among many others, is also considered a Top 100 basketball prospect.

The Florida Gators have two fewer commitments: receivers Brandon Wright of Memphis-East, Tenn.; and Robert Timmons of Flower Mound-Marcus, Texas. Although both players have publicly verballed, apparently neither had been offered by the Gators. Florida is unable to officially comment on recruits until signing day.

The UCLA Bruins have a pledge from defensive back Jebias Brown of Milipitas, Calif., over interest from Illinois, Arizona, USC, Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State and Wisconsin.

Arizona State has a verbal from defensive lineman Nick Johnson of Chandler, Ariz.

The Purdue Boilermakers have a pledge from receiver/defensive back Drew Rucks of Hightstown-The Peddie School, N.J.

Tulane has a verbal from offensive lineman William Blaylock of Tyler-John Tyler, Texas.

Early Class 2002 Top 150: Forty-seven prospects have already verballed from the Top 150 List.
