Top 100 forward selects Kansas State

Top 100 forward Cartier Martin of Houston-Nimitz, Tex., has committed to Kansas State.

Martin, who averaged 19.2 points and 12.4 rebounds as a junior, also considered Oklahoma State, Kentucky and Texas.

Super Prospect forward Sean Phaler of Villa Park, Cal., is near a decision between UCLA, Indiana and Washington. He averaged 20 points and eight rebounds as a junior.

Louisville, Maryland, Illinois, Kansas and Arizona lead the Early 2003 Top Classes.

C-Darryl Watkins; F-Brandon Bass, Linas Kleiza, Bobby Nash, Jarvelle Scott; G-LeBron James, Ronnie Brewer.

Forward Devon Evertsen of Phoenix-Moon Valley Ariz., is headed to Boston College over Texas Tech.

Wendell White, a forward from Redondo Beach-Redondo Union, Cal., committed to Pepperdine.

Forward Harrison Schaen of Santa Ana-Mater Dei, Cal., has chosen Princeton over Penn and UC-Santa Barbara, providing he gains early acceptance.

Lafayette has pledged forward Jamaal Douglas of Miami-Palmer Trinity, Fla.

Lamar gained forward Nathan Bilyeu of Ozark, Mo.

Central Connecticut State has pledged forward/guard Obie Nwadike of Jersey City-St. Anthony's, NJ; guard DeMario Anderson of Oxon Hill, Md; and forward Jean Philippe Morin of Laval-Montmorency Prep, Quebec, Canada.

Elon has pledged 7-1 center Bryce Husak of Mt. Vernon, Ia., over interest from Boise State and UNC-Ashville.

Appalachian State pledged guard Darryl (DJ) Thompson of Raleigh-Leesville Road, NC; guard Demetrius Scott of Orlando-Edgewater, Fla; and forward David Hardy of Harrisburg-Central Cabarrus, NC/Charlotte/Sheridan CC, Wyo.

Forward Troy Williams of Albany-Monroe, Ga., committed to Centenary.

Forward Scott Cutley of Los Angeles-Westchester, Cal., pledged to Kent State over interest from Portland, Loyola-Marymount and Colorado.

Forward Kory Castine of Marrero-Archbishop Shaw, La., has pledged to Tulane.

Guard Craig Johnson of Crockett, Tex., chose Liberty.

Buffalo has a commitment from forward/center Brian Andre of Bingham-Valley, Maine/Maine Central Institute, Maine.
