Illinois has pledged Class 2004 defensive lineman Xavier Fulton of Flossmoor/Homewood-Flossmoor, Ill., over Indiana, Michigan State and Wisconsin; and running back/defensive back Walter Mendenhall of Skokie-Niles West, Ill. Mendenhall's younger brother, Class 2005 receiver/running back/defensive back Rashard Mendenhall, also committed to the Illini.
Huge running back Rashad Jennings of Lynchburg-Christian Academy, Va., committed to the Pittsburgh Panthers over Virginia Tech. The Panthers withdrew an offer to defensive lineman/linebacker Chenry Lewis of Paterson-Catholic, NJ., who recently indicated a verbal commitment.
Auburn has pledged Class 2004 offensive lineman Antwoin Daniels of Forsyth-Mary Persons, Ga., over offers from Georgia Tech, Louisville and Middle Tennessee State.
Kansas State pledged Class 2004 athlete Nevin McKenzie of San Antonio-Jay, Tex., over Missouri and Baylor. The Wildcats recently gained defensive back Tyvenskie Page of Dallas-Adamson, Tex., over offers from Tulsa, TCU, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Georgia Tech and Maryland.
Baylor has pledges from Class 2004 offensive lineman Chris Green of Richmond-Foster, Tex., and receiver Curtis Shaw of Beaumont-Ozen, Tex.
Receiver/defensive back Grant Mason of Pontiac-St. Mary's Prep, Mich., who recently left Stanford, is headed to Michigan. He caught 23 passes for 154 yards as a redshirt freshman last season.
Minnesota has a commitment from Class 2004 tight end Jack Simmons of Mundelein-Carmel, Ill., over Northwestern and Michigan State.
The Wisconsin Badgers pledged Class 2004 defensive back Antonio Freeman of Wauwatosa-West, Wis.
