IMOLA, Italy -- Formula One driver Juan Pablo Montoya and NASCAR's Jeff Gordon will swap cars for the day at Indianapolis in June, Montoya's Williams team said on Friday.

Colombian Montoya, a former CART champion and Indianapolis 500 winner in 2000, will try out the Chevrolet of four-time Winston Cup champion Gordon on June 11 before the Canadian Grand Prix.

Gordon, who has won the Brickyard 400 three times at Indianapolis, will drive Montoya's FW25 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

"I'm just excited about this opportunity," Gordon said. "It's something I've dreamed of, just getting behind the wheel of a Formula One car and seeing what it was like.

"I don't plan on going F1 racing, but I would love to just get that experience."

Montoya agreed.

"Driving a big, heavy NASCAR will certainly be different to driving a Formula One car," he said. "I will enjoy the opportunity and I don't think Jeff should be concerned that I will take away his job."
