Wednesday, February 14 Zanardi not missing a beat Associated Press SEBRING, Fla. -- Alex Zanardi is making himself right at home in Mo Nunn's Champ Car camp. Zanardi, the Italian star who flopped in Formula One after winning CART titles in 1997 and 1998, joined Brazilian Tony Kanaan for tests last week in Sebring, Fla. "We tried a lot of things and covered a lot of ground as a team," said Zanardi, who teamed with Nunn, then a race engineer, in the championship seasons with Chip Ganassi's team. "We learned a lot from the test. I'm looking forward to getting back out here," Zanardi sat out last year after failing to score a single point for Team Williams in the 1999 F1 season. Zanardi and Kanaan will test again next week in Sebring and Homestead, Fla., in preparation for the March 11 opener in Monterrey, Mexico. "That was the first time we worked together on both cars at the same time," Kanaan said. "I was a bit tense coming in, but everything worked like the team was together for a long time." |
