FORT WORTH, Texas -- Here is a look at some of the specifications of Indy Racing League cars and CART Champ cars. The IRL will race Saturday night at Texas Motor Speedway, where CART canceled its race because of concerns over driver safety.

Maximum speed: 215-220 mph.
Horsepower: about 650 hp.
Fuel: Methanol.
Length: 192-196 inches.
Width: 74-78½ inches.

Season: 13 races in United States.
Race surfaces: Ovals only.

CART
Engine: Turbocharged, 8-cylinder, 4-cycle overhead cam.
Maximum speed: 240 mph-plus.
Horsepower: about 800 hp.
Fuel: Menthanol.
Length: 190-199 inches.
Width: 77¾-78½ inches.
Height: about 32 inches.
Weight without fuel: 1,525 pounds.
Cost: $450,000-plus.
Season: 20 races in United States, Mexico, Germany, Canada, England and Australia.
