2002 recap
The good: Victories at Japan and Denver, plus four other podiums and four poles earned this Champ car sophomore second in the standings and much respect in the CART paddock.

Season highlight: Capturing the pole position at the Indianapolis 500 after winning his first-ever oval-track the week before at Motegi, Japan.

The bad: He picked the wrong year to have a strong year because his buddy Cristiano da Matta was so dominating.

2003 outlook
Replacing longtime friend and rival da Matta in the prestigious Newman-Haas ride, Junqueira really blossomed in his second year in CART. He will fit right into his old buddy's seat.
