2002 recap
The good: This 27-year-old rookie spent the year learning and trying to make up for poor starting positions. His best race came at Elkhart Lake, when he finished eighth after starting 17th.

Season highlight: Dominguez was awarded the victory at Surfer's Paradise because he was leading when the red flag came out in what could loosely be termed a race (only seven laps ran under green due to driving rain and flooding conditions).

Mario Dominguez

The bad: Qualified 16th or worse in 15 of 19 starts.

Season lowlight: Failed to make the first turn at Cleveland after being caught up in four-car crash.

Key stat: Had nine DNFs in 19 starts.

2003 outlook
May or may not be back in CART with Herdez Comptition. If a veteran teammate is brought on board, Dominguez could keep his seat.
