2002 recap
After spending five years in Indy Lights, the 25-year-old native of San Luis Potosi, Mexico moved into Toyota Atlantic in 2001. Rodolfo Lavin is steady if not unspectacular results in 2002. Best result came at Milwaukee oval where he started seventh and finished second.

2003 outlook
Brought longtime sponsor, Corona Beer, to Derrick Walker's champ car team wher he'll team with another rookie, Darren Manning. Lavin becomes the fourth Mexican driver in CART's 2003 lineup. Still young but jury still out on whether he can cut it in CART. Will face a tough learning curve with Reynard chassis.
