PHOENIX -- NASCAR Winston Cup regular Kevin Harvick successfully defended his Truck series Chevy Silverado 150 title Friday at Phoenix International Raceway.

Driving a Chevrolet, Harvick ran among the top five all day to outlast series championship contenders Ted Musgrave, Dennis Setzer and points leader Brendan Gaughan.

Musgrave was runner-up to Harvick for the second straight year here. He also moved within 26 points of Gaughan in the standings heading to the season finale on November 14 at Homestead, Florida.

Driving a Dodge, Gaughan, who came into the race with a 69-point lead over Musgrave, lost a cylinder with nine laps remaining while running second and dropped to 12th.

Dennis Setzer finished third and is 39 points back in third. Setzer recorded his 19th consecutive top-10 finish.

Rookie Carl Edwards and Bobby Hamilton rounded out the top five.
