User comments on Bernoldi

Here's what users had to say about Arrows' Enrique Bernoldi, his past season and his future prospects:

The highlight of Enrique Bernoldi's season wasn't an eighth-place finish in Germany. It was keeping David Coulthard behind him for 40 laps in Monaco!

Enrique Bernoldi is one of the rare talents buried in an uncompetitive team. Free him to an actual team, even a secondary one -- BAR, Jordan or Sauber -- and he'd shine. He'd just about outqualify any teammate he'd ever have other than the premier drivers.

Paul Fogel
Kansas City, Mo.

While Enrique Bernoldi did outqualify Jos Verstappen, he is still going nowhere with the Arrows team. The new Cosworth engines are not enough to help the struggling team.

Rich Forbes
Indianapolis

Qualifying skills are great, but if you can't hold your own in the races, you're worthless. This kid needs more experience, but he also needs to succeed, now. F1 is not very patient.

Patrick Heber
East Lansing, Mich.

Enrique Bernoldi was considered the 'next Senna' when he was younger. Then a road accident in Brazil did something to his confidence. I still think he is pretty good. But, without that crash, he would have been better. He'll be an above average F1 driver, he'll score some points. Then he'll come stateside to CART and win races. He's not a Gil de Ferran or Helio Castroneves, but he's better then a Christian Fittpaldi or Roberto Moreno.

Alex Bassi
Los Angeles

Enrique Bernoldi will remain an unknown quantity until he is given the proper support one needs to compete in F1. I do not think he will ever see that support. Do not be suprised if he ends up driving for Eddie Cheever's Red Bull-sponsored IRL squad in the coming years.

Doug Webster
Columbus, Ohio

Enrique Bernoldi has not proven himself in F1. If it were not for Red Bull backing, nobody would know who he is. If Tom Walkinshaw were smart, he would cut Bernoldi loose and have a team of Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Jos Verstappen. Now that would be interesting.

Todd Michaels
Orlando, Fla.
