Users: Mixed reviews on move to Jordan

Here's what users had to say about Jordan's Giancarlo Fisichella, his past season and his future prospects:

Fisi will be good for Jordan, replacing the quick-on-Saturday, but nowhere-on-Sunday Jarno Trulli. But, I fear Giancarlo is making a bad move. The Renault was very strong towards the end of the year, and will continue to get better with Gascoyne and Renault working together.

Giancarlo Fisichella must be the most underrated and underappreciated driver in Formula One. All he's ever done is be quicker than every teammate he's ever had, including the likes of Ralf Schumacher and Jenson Button. I don't understand why Flavio Briatore was so hard on Fisichella at Benetton, especially considering how far beneath Giancarlo's abilities the Benetton was. If Jordan's package is right next year, Fisichella will break through with his hugely deserved maiden victory.

I believe Giancarlo has the talent to win F1 races, however, he has never been in the right situation. Jordan will be his best opportunity to win to date. While some may believe Renault will ascend to its previous heights, it isn't likely with in the next two years. With Jordan enjoying factory support, I believe 2002 will be good year for the little Italian, whether it includes a win or not.

Giancarlo should indeed yield more points for Eddie Jordan in the upcoming season. Unfortunately, not only will Fisi fail to score his first victory in 2002, he will likely enjoy no more than a 15 percent chance at a podium finish on any given raceday. And, with Renault now at the helm of the former Benetton team, Jarno Trulli may even find himself in a more rewarding situation than his replacement. No one hungrier you say? There are two sophomores that directly challenge your comment -- and they both have faster rides.

Irvine, Calif.

Last year, Fisi proved what a good driver he is. People questioned his motivation, but he did an admirable job with an awful car. If he can become as good a qualifier as he is a racer, he'll get his first win this year.

Certainly, I believe Giancarlo is an upgrade from Jarno Trulli. I've always felt Jarno is a bit over-rated as an F1 driver. Unfortunately, I don't see any victories on the horizon for Giancarlo. Not because of talent, but equipment. Eddie Jordan took a step backward this past season, disappointing especially after the optimistic 2000 season. For 2002, let's just concentrate on getting to the podium on a consistent basis. If that occurs, then the sky is the limit.

Bad move I think, Renault (Benetton) showed big improvements in the second half of last season, while Jordan seems to be good only at shooting themselves in the foot.
