Saturday, July 6 Frentzen to help secure team's future Reuters SILVERSTONE, England -- Germany's Heinz-Harald Frentzen is determined to do everything he can to help his Arrows boss Tom Walkinshaw secure the future of the debt-ridden team. Frentzen failed to appear on track at Silverstone in Friday practice for Sunday's British Grand Prix, but was able to qualify for the race Saturday afternoon after Walkinshaw paid for the engines required to race. "I will do everything that is in my power to help the team," said the German driver after qualifying 16th. "I am supporting the team as much as I can. I am not the kind of guy who really does not do a complete job here, even if it is difficult." Walkinshaw is currently attempting to work out a deal with one of three possible investors over the next two weeks to ensure the team's continuation in Formula One. The Arrows team had been in danger of missing out on the British Grand Prix following a money dispute with engine suppliers Cosworth. This season is the second time Frentzen has raced for a team in financial trouble. Last year, he was representing Prost Grand Prix, which eventually folded at the start of 2002. The German had already begun talks with Arrows over a possible drive during his troubled off-season period at Prost, and is now desperately hoping Arrows can survive their current struggle. When asked if he was considering a move elsewhere, Frentzen replied: "I don't know but there is a time of day when I have to think about what I am going to do in the future, this is quite normal. "But right now, I am still married to Arrows and I don't speak about another marriage to that marriage. "And even though it is difficult, it is still a very challenging situation. When the going gets tough the tough get going." |
