Check out a short list of favorites for Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix.

Rubens Barrichello
Barrichello
Rubens Barrichello:
Earned a total of 35 points from six grand prixs this year, that includes victory at the European Grand Prix in Germany in June; both career wins were recorded on German soil, with the first at Hockenheim in 2000; coming off a fourth-place result at Hockenheimring; has fared well in Budapest with a fifth place in 2000, improved to second last year behind Ferrari teammate Michael Schumacher.

Jenson Button:
Relaxed in Mallorca, Spain in his three weeks off since the German Grand Prix, where he did not finish; despite the disappointment at Hockenheim, is looking forward to the challenge of the tight Hungaroring circuit; "The race is hard and very tiring," he said. "There are so many corners, and no real straights to relax on. It's a good circuit for the drivers." Signed with British American Racing for 2003-05 seasons with a two-year option; earned 11 points in five of the 12 races.

David Coulthard:
The McLaren driver holds a good record at Hungaroring with three second-place finishes and a third last year, but has never won; some good results this year with five podium finishes, including victory at the Monaco Grand Prix; his 32 points puts him fifth in the standings and part of the wide-open competition for second place with Ralf Schumacher, Juan Montoya and Barrichello; won 12 races and 12 poles in his career and 55 podium finishes.

Juan Pablo Montoya

Juan Montoya:
After not finishing in three grand prixs, he got back on track and recorded three consecutive runs in the points; was second at Hockenheim and has been spending time with family and friends in Miami; highlight of the year were five consecutive poles (six overall), but has not been able to capitalize on that; eager for the race at Budapest, a city he enjoys visiting; missed out on a points finish last year in his debut at this circuit in eighth place; "Even if it's not one of my favorite tracks, I definitely intend to make the best of it." Is second in the championship with 40 points, a distant 66 behind already crowned champion Michael Schumacher.

Michael Schumacher:
All he has left to do is continue to perform the rest of the season and set more new records in Formula One; clinched his fifth F1 title in France with six grand prixs to spare; has not finished lower than third (Malaysia) this year, with nine victories including the last three in a row; also won four straight races earlier in the season (Brazil, San Marino, Spain, Austria); career total is now an all-time Formula 1 best 62 wins; defending champion in Hungary where he also won in 1998 and 1994.

Ralf Schumacher
Schumacher
Ralf Schumacher:
The Williams BMW team is the most successful team in the 16 races held in Budapest with seven victories; Ralf is hopeful that trend will continue and the team will close the gap to Ferrari; had good battle for fourth with Mika Hakkinen between laps 61-71 last year which he prevailed; finished in all five starts at Hungaroring; "This break has been very welcome, to simply recharge my batteries and refresh and strengthen myself for the last five races," he said. "The motivation is to catch up with Ferrari before the end of the season. If we don't achieve this, it will make next season very difficult. Budapest will indicate how strong we could be in the future. I enjoy the Hungaroring track because you've got to work hard in the car, which is in many ways similar to Monaco. This puts the emphasis on my personal fitness, as much as the car's reliability." One victory this year (the fourth of his career) was recorded in Malaysia.

Jarno Trulli:
Labeled this race as one of the most demanding on the circuit; best achieved result this year was fourth at Monaco; confident the Renault will perform well in the high-downforce configuration needed at Hungaroring; "I think our car will suit the circuit," he said. "The package has been strong everywhere this year and I feel that we are going to Hungary with a big chance of being competitive."
