Wednesday, December 26 Expect bigger things from Buhl Here's what users had to say about Robbie Buhl, his past season and his future prospects:
I think Buhl is a great driver, but I think he lacks the killer instinct on the track nessasary to contend for the championship. I hope he proves me wrong this year. Mike Gaul Pennsburg, Pa.
Robbie finished the season on a strong note. With stability, I expect this team to do better in 2002. He knows how to race; when to be racey and when to wait. Robbie has the talents to be among the elite if the team can continue the improvement they showed late in 2001. In addition, he is a great guy who does a lot of work with kids. Racing needs drivers like Buhl. Jim Fahlstedt Reidsville, N.C.
If the Nissan engine continues to improve, so will Team Purex. I think a more consistent season is in the cards, including a win or two. Bill Pickard Indianapolis, Ind.
I think drivers and teams like Robbie Buhl and Team Purex are part of the reason real people love real racing and both should be commended and feared in the upcoming season. Mel McCarroll Athens, Texas
Robbie could have won Indy last May. The Infiniti was incredibly strong, but his accident prevented was a show-stopper. Look out for Robbie at Indy in '02. Andrew Alley Alexandria, Va.
I am a big IRL fan, and watch all three drivers from Ohio. Robbie caught my attention earlier this year, and I really think he is poised to have his best year ever. Things just started coming together at the end of last season, and I am looking forward to seeing the Purex car and Robbie Buhl in the winner's circle next summer. Sandra Douglass Columbus, Ohio
Robbie will most certainly find victory lane in '02. I look for him to be among the championship contenders for most of the year. This is a good team, slowly building toward a dominant future. If Infiniti lives up to expectations, Buhl will have a great season! Jason Scott Green Bay, Wis.
I think Robbie will contend next year, he has the equipment and talent, he just need the luck. Derek Seguy
Last year, Robbie made his only real mistake of the season while battling for the lead at Indy late in the race. He could easily have won several other races if not for mechanical failure and pit miscues. This year, he's a good dark horse pick to win the 500 and contend for the IRL title. Tom O'Neill Springfield, Ill. |
