Put the pedal to the metal in ESPN's Fantasy Racing 2002. Get your teams today! |
Friday, February 8 Users: Ray undeniably talented ESPN.com We asked how Greg Ray will fare with Kelley Racing in 2002 and if more top-10 finishes are in his future. Here are some of the better responses:
I believe Ray's relationship with Knapp will enhance the strong Kelley Racing Team. Tom Kelley will keep Ray and Sharp's egos intact. I think the 2002 Indy Racing League champion may come from the Kelley Racing team! John Goebel Fort Wayne, Ind.
Greg Ray is one of the most talented drivers in the IRL. I do not believe his 2001 season is truly reflective of the driver that he is. Sure, he has crashed a couple of times, especially in the big race, the Indianapolis 500, while racing for the lead. But he is out there racing hard and going for the win. What else can you ask for from a driver? I think Ray will have a great season with Kelley Racing, another one of the top teams in the IRL. He just needs to rid himself of some of the mechanical gremlins that have plagued him in recent years. Matt Demey Harrisburg, Pa.
Greg Ray knows how to go fast, but fast doesn't equate to automatic victory in his case. Greg needs to learn how control his race and finish without breaking his equipment. Bottom line in my opinion is he needs more polish as a driver, not faster or better equipment. Dick Tornquist Los Angeles
Greg and Thomas will quickly return to the form that gave us so much to be proud of when they moved to the IRL. I can't wait for the season to begin so Greg can display the great driving talent he has and Thomas can prove the depth of his engineering skills. They will be successful. Kelley Racing has made a very good decision to reunite this dynamic duo. Greg and Thomas will be a force to reckon with during this season in the IRL. Denver Ray Mut Fort Worth, Texas
Greg needs to learn patience is much more of an asset in a 500-miler than speed. Why win the race on Friday (pole day) only to lose Sunday (race day)? Also Greg might be better served to keep his ears open and his mouth shut! Arrogance can be a brutal teacher. Kevin Hatchett Plano, Texas
When Greg Ray told Menard he would not drive for a multi-car team was when I formed a lasting opinion of someone who was simply too full of himself to succeed. And he made me look good by doing just that -- he may qualify well, but he can't finish a race worth a damn. I'm delighted Menard got rid of him for Jaques Lazier. Judy La Londe Indianapolis
I personally think Mark Dismore had the patience needed to win races. If you look back, Mark had a lot of bad luck and was collected up in a lot of accidents. Greg is a charger with less patience, I guess we will have to wait and see. I just hope Mark lands a ride, he is my favorite driver in the series. Robert White Southfield, Mich.
Greg Ray is a talented driver. I was shocked that Team Menard let him go -- their loss. Tom Kelley is a smart man for giving Greg an opportunity to be a part of Kelley Racing. This is a great combination. Dawn Williamson Washington, Ind. |
