2002 recap
The good: Savoie proved her mental toughness in '02 as sponsorship uncertainties and personal business ventures provided ample distractions, yet from Atlanta on, she ruled the class.

Season highlight: Won the U.S. Nationals for the second year in a row and went wire-to-wire, qualifying No. 1 and setting low elapsed time

The bad: Lost CVEC sponsorship halfway through the season, a disappointment after taking large expectations into the relationship.

Season lowlight: Lost to Craig Treble in the year's first two races: In the Gainesville final and the Houston semis.

2003 outlook
What needs to be done: Obviously, a sufficient and stable sponsorship agreement would be nice. Team owner George Bryce is hoping to increase Mohegan Sun's involvement, but so far, the Connecticut-based casino giant has remained at the associate level.

Prediction: Savoie's skills as a racer and Bryce's abilities as an engine builder have never been more formidable. They are the best team out there and she'll be tough to beat for the title in '03. In fact, the smart money will be riding on her for the distant future.

Update: It had been announced that Savoie's partnership with George Bryce is over and her driving future in the NHRA uncertain. Just days later, Savoie announced on RPM2Night that she will team with her cousin-in-law, Antron Brown, and will race a second Suzuki for Team 23 in 2003.
