2002 recap
The good: For the second year in a row, Worsham finished in his highest career position in the points, third. Was the only driver outside of Tony Pedregon to play any tangible role in the championship stretch drive to catch John Force.

Season highlight: With Force's entourage primed and ready to celebrate his 100th victory in Phoenix, Worsham beat him in the final for his first win of '02.

The bad: Worsham and his team had their chances to challenge for the championship but lack of consistency kept them from applying sufficient pressure to Team Castrol. A painful DNQ at the Gatornationals and five round wins out of the next six races dropped them from second to fifth in the standings.

Season lowlight: With a mathematical shot at catching Force heading into the US Nationals, Worsham brought out a third car driven by Cory Lee. Force won Indy, the third car had little impact, and Worsham never threatened for the points lead thereafter.

Key stat: Two years in a row, Worsham has won four races and finished third in the points.

2003 outlook
What needs to be done: This is a team that has the essential ingredients to run up front. Del and his dad, Chuck, need another top-notch tuner with a title pedigree to get to the Promised Land.

Prediction: A top five finish for the Worshams is no longer good enough. They want more, and if they can score 10 to 15 more round wins in 2003 than they had last year, they could get it.
