KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Frank Kimmel won the ARCA/REMAX BPU 200 on Saturday at Kansas Speedway, his fourth victory in five series races this season.

Kimmel, the points leader in the ARCA Series, averaged 162.269 mph in his Ford. He was second in the race last year on the new 1.5-mile track.

Kimmel began his day by crashing out on the first lap of the NASCAR Winston West Series' Kansas Speedway.com 150, an event he won a year ago.

Stuart Kirby in a Ford outdueled Damon Lusk in a Chevrolet for second place behind Kimmel as drivers toiled in 90-degree heat.

Kimmel, the 1998, 2000 and 2001 ARCA Re/MAX driving champion, has won four of the past five races, including the PFG Lester 150, the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 and the WLWT Channel 5-155. The only driver besides the prematurely graying 40-year-old to win an ARCA Series race since Feb. 10 was Jeff Fultz on May 18 in the EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 100.

Kimmel had a 4.2-second lead over Lusk by lap 55, with Andy Belmont, defending champion Jason Jarrett and Chad Blount bunched far back.

Jarrett spun into the wall on the third turn on lap 94 and was out.

Kimmel dropped into second place when he pitted during a caution flag and Kirby chose not to pit. But Kirby's lead was brief as Kimmel surged back ahead one lap later.

On lap 90, Blount took a brief lead when Kimmel pitted. But by lap 109, it was Kimmel in the lead to stay while Kirby and Lusk batted for second and third. Kirby took control of second place with seven laps to go.

Blount finished fourth in a Dodge and Belmont was fifth in a Ford.
