Wallace

CONCORD, N.C. -- Rusty Wallace will go after the pole for the Coca Cola 600 tonight with three broken toes on his left foot.

Wallace was injured in a lap 14 crash during The Winston last Saturday. He says it's about as hard as he's ever hit, and that includes his crash at Pocono several years ago.

Wallace and Dale Jarrett wrecked as they slowed trying to avoid Sterling Marlin and Bobby Hamilton wrecking in front of them on the backstretch. He says what made it worse is that he saw everything happening in front of him and couldn't do anything about it.
