Tony Stewart enters Sunday's season finale at Homestead-Miami with an 89-point lead on second place driver Mark Martin. If the two drivers leave the race tied in points, Stewart's three wins this season would give him the championship tie breaker, as Martin can leave Miami with no more than two victories for the year.
Therefore, Martin must outpoint Stewart by 90 points in order to win the championship. A 22nd-place finish would clinch the title for Stewart. Here's a rundown of the remaining scenarios which would give Martin the championship:
