2002 recap
Mears competed full-time in the Busch Series, finishing 21st in points.
2003 outlook
What needs to be done: Mears and Jamie McMurray make up Ganassi's rookie tandem. Mears has got good equipment and a great mentor in
Sterling Marlin, who also drives for Ganassi. If he can continue to adapt to the feel of a stock car
(like his uncle, four-time Indy 500 winner Rick Mears, Casey used to
drive open wheel) than he'll be fine.
Prediction: Mears may not be a contender for the title, but he'll
certainly be a threat for the rookie of the year award.
