2002 recap
The good: Larry Foyt did not compete in a Winston Cup event in 2002. The young driver will be running his rookie campaign this year after earning valuable seat time in the Busch Series season.

Key stat: 26. The 25-year-old driver has been to every Indy 500 -- 26 of them -- since he was born.

2003 outlook
What needs to be done: Foyt, racing for his father, is left with the challenge of succeeding in a program which has compiled no wins, one top-five and four top-10s in two years before his arrival. With a new sponsor, which is reportedly kicking in more cash than Conseco was, things could get better ... but improvement won't necessarily qualify for a good season.

Prediction: Foyt might be the first driver his father has put in his full-time Winston Cup ride that won't get fired after just one year.
