Ireland international Bundee Aki has apologised for 'liking' a controversial social media post from Australian star Israel Folau.
Folau, 30, declared on his Instagram account that "hell awaits" homosexuals, drunks, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists and idolaters.
Aki liked the post at the time but he has now taken to Twitter to apologise for defending a post "without paying any attention to the content."
Folau has since refused to apologise for his comments and said that he is prepared to walk away from rugby for the sake of his faith.
The Australian is currently awaiting a code of conduct hearing on May. 4. where his future in Australian rugby will be decided.
England international Billy Vunipola was 'formally warned' by the Rugby Football Union and his club Saracens after he publicly defended Folau's controversial comments.
