Bob Knight
Robert Montgomery Knight. His God-given name is intimidating in itself, even before "The General" part comes in. Arguably the greatest basketball coach of all time, his 35 years of coaching, his almost 800 career wins, his gold medal and 3 national championships, his legacy will unfortunately be forever marred by his maniacal and obsessive behavior.
Granting an all-access pass to John Feinstein might have been the biggest mistake Bob Knight has ever made; it was a move that brought his behind closed doors abusive behavior to the pages of a book that some 15 years later still hasn't gone away.
Feinstein's book, though, was just the first shot in a series of events that led to Knight's downfall in Bloomington. More than a decade before the Neil Reeds and Kent Harveys got their 15 minutes, the Steve Alfords, the Todd Jadlows and the Stew Robinsons were living their lives in the eye of the storm. Living and playing in the season on the brink.
