  • Strong project management experience, with projects ranging from a few days to many months.

DESIGN JOBS AT ESPN.COM
Members of the design team at ESPN.com are responsible for the graphic look, feel and design quality of all visual aspects of the site. Positions are currently open for designers and page coders. Designers translate content and site characteristics into design concepts, layouts, graphics, logos, advertising units, special sections and the like. They apply fundamental analytical and creative skills to identifying and evaluating design alternatives and to developing or participating in developing aspects of assigned design projects. Front-end page coders work closely with visual designers, producers, product managers, and engineers to create some of the most trafficked pages on the internet, bridging the gap between static visual interface design and content management production.

Positions located in Bristol, CT.

Qualified design candidates will possess:
  • Knowledge of the creative development process for a major website.
  • 2+ years of creative and production experience at the professional level.
  • Adept in art production, graphic design, photographic images, multimedia, graphics, music and sound, with comfortable familiarity in applicable design resources, e.g., artists; graphics artists, multimedia specialists, photo specialists, music and sound resources.
  • Understanding of and competency in using applicable software packages for online art, online design concepts, and software specifications, e.g., HTML; PhotoShop; Illustrator; Flash.
  • Fine arts and computer graphics background (degree preferred), and proficiency with several new media graphic design tools that operate on a few technology platforms and graphic design software packages.
  • Strong communication skills.

Qualified Front-End Page Coder candidates will possess:
  • A minimum of four years of work experience coding web pages from scratch.
  • Expert knowledge of web standards.
