Disney presents Michelle Kwan: Princess on Ice

World champion Michelle Kwan skates in an all-new ice-travaganza that blends hits from today's hottest new groups with enchanting songs from films featuring classic Disney "princesses," in "Disney Presents Michelle Kwan: Princess On Ice," Saturday, Jan. 20 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Skating together for the first time ever with Ms. Kwan will be two legendary leading ladies from the skating world, Olympic Gold medallists and former world champions Dorothy Hamill and Katarina Witt. Also appearing will be Olympic Gold medallist Ilia Kulik and the three-time U.S. National Pair champion skating team of Todd Sand and Jenni Meno. Top bands SHeDAISY and O-Town will perform.

Highlights from the innovative special, which will use cutting-edge lighting and music video techniques, include:

  • Michelle skating to O-Town, as the group sings its current top-10 hit song, as well as the hit "All For Love." She'll also solo to "A Whole New World," from "Aladdin."

  • Hamill skating to the Sugar Ray hit "Someday."

  • Michelle, Dorothy and Katarina teaming up on the ice for the first time in history, to the strains of "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes," from "Cinderella."

  • Ilia Kulik and Michelle skating to SHeDAISY's performance of their hit "Before Me and You." Michelle will also give the SHeDAISY trio a skating lesson and the entire cast will later skate to the group's hit "Dancing With Angels."

  • Michelle skating to the rousing hit "Kiss the Girl," from "The Little Mermaid," and the entire cast skating to the ballad "Colors of the Wind," from "Pocahontas."
  • Witt soloing on the ice to "Someday My Prince Will Come," from "Cinderella."

  • Meno and Sand dueting on the ice to "Beauty and the Beast."

    "Disney Presents Michelle Kwan: Princess On Ice" is from Brad Lachman Productions in association with Disney Enterprises Inc. Emmy Award-winner Brad Lachman is executive producer, Garry Bormet is producer and writer and Bill Bracken is supervising producer of the special, which was directed by Ron de Moraes . Emmy-winner Sarah Kawahara choreographed "Disney Presents Michelle Kwan: Princess on Ice," which was taped at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center.
