COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - - Deanna Stellato, the world junior runner-up, withdrew Tuesday from next week's U.S. Figure Skating Championships with a hip injury.

Stellato, of Glenview, Ill., reaggravated her right hip in practice, suffering a pulled hip flexor. She initially injured the hip in November at Skate Canada, after which she took off two weeks. She is expected to be off the ice for up to a month.

Stellato was ninth at last year's U.S. Championships in her first year on the senior level. In 1999, she won the U.S. novice title, then took the Junior Grand Prix Final gold medal.

The 2001 national championships will be held in Boston.
