| Nationalities of skating judges withheld Associated Press | |||

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia - - For the first time at a major
international figure skating competition, the nationalities of
judges are not listed on the official score sheets and scoreboard.
The International Skating Union said the ruling for the European championships was not an attempt to hide the judges' nationalities, which can be found on the Internet. Scoring in figure skating includes consideration for artistic merit, and judges are sometimes criticized as voting along national lines. The ISU said the decision was made at a meeting of the organization in June. | |
