BOSTON (AP) -- Katia scored for San Jose and Kristine Lilly
scored for Boston three minutes apart in the first half Saturday as
the CyberRays and Breakers tied 1-1.
Lilly tied the game in the 26th minute. Maren Meinert sent Lilly
a perfect feed at the top left side of the box. Lilly blasted a
line drive past Lakeysia Beene for her third goal of the season.
Katia opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with her eighth
goal. She shook off defender Jena Kluegel, took a pass from Sisse
and beat Karina LeBlanc from three feet out with a slow roller to
the far right corner.
The Breakers (3-5-5) are now unbeaten in six home games this
season, although four of those games have been draws. San Jose
(5-4-3) has lost just once in its last seven games.
Boston spent much of the second half attacking the CyberRays'
net, but failed to convert. Dagny Mellgren had a pair of near
misses in the 58th and 59th minutes. Meinert put a shot on net in
the 90th minute that Beene barely pushed over the crossbar.
