Courage's Prinz ties WUSA mark

CARY, N.C. (AP) -- An own goal by Angela Hucles gave the Carolina Courage a 2-1 win over the Boston Breakers on Saturday night.

Birgit Prinz tied a WUSA record by scoring in her fifth consecutive game, heading in a ball in the 57th minute for Carolina (10-2-3).

The win was Carolina's fifth straight, and put them ahead of Philadelphia in the WUSA standings.

Kristine Lilly answered in the 59th with her sixth goal of the season, extending her points streak for Boston (4-7-5) to five games.

Boston's Maren Meinert, the WUSA scoring co-leader with 7 goals and 11 assists, was held scoreless.

Hucles gave up the game-winner on a free kick from Unni Lehn, who fired from just outside the penalty box. The ball hit Hucles in the shin, and goalkeeper Traci Ducar never had a chance to make a play on the ball.

The teams will lose a combined seven players for a July 21 match between Norway and the United States.

Tiffany Roberts and Danielle Slaton of Carolina and Boston's Kate Sobrero, Jena Kluegel and Hucles have been called by the U.S. team. Lehn and Hege Riise of Carolina will play for Norway.
