BOSTON (AP) -- Allison Kemp scored her first goal of the season
in the 90th minute as the Boston Breakers tied the Philadelphia
Charge 1-1 on Saturday night.
Kemp, who came in as a substitute in the 84th minute, gave
Boston (4-8-7) the tie on a breakaway.
Liu Ailing scored for the first-place Charge (10-2-5) in the
84th minute.
Kristine Lilly and Ragnhild Gulbrandsen pushed the ball ahead to
Kemp, who broke free from the Charge defense and beat Melissa
Moore, the league's top goalie, with a soft tap to the far left
corner.
Breakers defender Jena Kluegel passed back to goalkeeper Tracy
Ducar, who tried to clear the ball but kicked it to Ailing, who was
waiting 10 feet outside the box and blasted a hard shot into the
net.
The Charge's Marinette Pichon, leading the league with 13 goals
and 27 points, sat out with a toe injury.
The Breakers stayed unbeaten at home at 4-0-4, but were
eliminated from playoff contention.
