UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) -- Mia Hamm, Emmy Barr, and Jacqui Little
scored second-half goals as the Washington Freedom beat the New
York Power on Saturday night.
Bai Jie scored in the 17th minute on the Freedom's only shot on
goal in the first half. In the 56th minute, a corner kick by Hamm
was finished by Barr to make it 2-0.
The Power cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 60th minute when Emily
Janss recovered a loose ball and beat Siri Mullinix for her eighth
goal of the season.
Seven minutes later, Hamm scored her eighth on a free kick from
a few yards beyond the penalty box. Little made it 4-1 by slipping
a shot under New York goalkeeper Saskia Webber.
Jacelyn Raveia scored her first WUSA goal in the 89th minute.
The Freedom (11-5-5) will play either Carolina or Philadelphia
in the WUSA playoffs. The Power (3-17-1) finished last in the eight
team league.
