Real Madrid might be the most underrated super team in the world. They've won two of the past three Champions Leagues, finished second behind a historic Barcelona team the past two seasons, and have comfortably been one of the best three teams in the world for longer than that. It's also hard to shake the feeling that they should be better. With all the talent they have, with all the money they have, with all the Cristiano Ronaldo they have, there's just something about them that feels slightly underwhelming.
But once again this season, through 11 games they are taking care of business. They're first in La Liga with 27 points, two ahead of Barcelona and five ahead of third place Villarreal. Through four games in their Champions League campaign they trail Borussia Dortmund by two points, 10 to 8, but are still comfortably on track to progress with Sporting Lisbon five points behind them. Real Madrid have had, by any metric, a comfortable start to the season.
