Euro 2020 and the Copa America are over and the summer transfer window is open, leaving Europe's biggest clubs clear to make a splash in the market. Check out the latest gossip below, and see all official deals here.
TOP STORY: PSG, Atleti eye Henderson talks
The Times, Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail all report that contract talks between the two parties have broken down for the time being, leaving the club captain's future up in the air with two years left on his deal.
The situation could see a move for the 31-year-old from both Atletico and PSG, who are both reported to be monitoring the situation. Jurgen Klopp and the Anfield hierarchy are cautious of another player leaving in similar fashion to Georginio Wijnaldum, who departed for PSG on a free transfer this summer following failed talks over a contract extension.
PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly an admirer of Henderson's and likes his aggressive style on the pitch. A move from Les Parisiens would sum up their own aggressive recruitment this summer, potentially adding the midfielder to the likes of Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi, Gianluigi Donnarumma and former Liverpool teammate Wijnaldum.
For Atletico Madrid, the England international's qualities would fit well with Diego Simeone's system. It would also see a potential reunion with ex-Liverpool striker Luis Suarez in the stadium in which Henderson lifted the Champions League with the Reds back in 2019.

22.02 BST: Jose Mourinho's Roma have been busy this offseason, the club having already signed a new goalkeeper (Rui Patricio), while closing in on deals for Palmeiras left-back Matias Vina and Arsenal defensive midfielder Granit Xhaka.
Once those deals are buttoned up, expect Roma to next bolster the attack, with Calciomercato revealing that Porto wide midfielder Luis Diaz is their top target. The 24-year-old made 17 goal involvements (11 goals, six assists) last season for Porto to help them reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League, and is fresh off an impressive Copa America with Colombia. Diaz scored four goals in six games at the tournament with Colombia, including a few of the spectacular variety as Los Cafeteros finished fourth.
Also linked with Liverpool, Diaz has an €80 million release clause, but it is widely expected that Porto would consider selling him for around €35m. Mourinho still has strong ties at his former club and there have been rumblings of a €25m plus bonuses offer by Roma for Diaz. Stay tuned...
21.18 BST: Brentford are set to sign highly-regarded Celtic centre-back Kristoffer Ajer, Sky Sports reports.
The deal is all but completed for the Norwegian, who will become the newly-promoted Bees' second-ever signing as a Premier League club. The towering six-foot-six Ajer has made 170 career appearances for the Hoops, winning the 'Treble Treble' with Celtic between 2018-20. The 23-year-old, who has 23 caps for Norway, was also a target of Norwich.
20.42 BST: Arsenal have emerged as favourites to land Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson, according to the Daily Star.
The 31-year-old, who has emerged as one of the club's most important players over the last decade, might be sold on as the two clubs struggle to reach terms over a new contract and bookmaker Coral has the Gunners as favourites. The 2020 FWA Footballer of the Year still has two years remaining on his deal at Anfield, but a report this week from the Athletic suggested the Reds could cash in on the central midfield stalwart.
Arsenal, PSG, and Atletico Madrid have all been linked with the England man, who captained Liverpool to Champions League glory in 2019 and then helped them end their 30-year wait for a Premier League title in 2020.
19.55 BST: Another DONE DEAL for Everton, as the club have announced goalkeeper Asmir Begovic as their second signing of the day.
Now 34, the experienced Begovic joins on a free transfer to backup and push No.1 Jordan Pickford. The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has been on the books at Bournemouth for the past four years, although he spent much of the past two seasons on loan at Qarabag (2019-20) and AC Milan (2021).
The veteran has made 252 Premier League appearances between his time with Stoke, Chelsea and Bournemouth.
19.10 BST: Chelsea still haven't made any progress with West Ham in their pursuit of former Academy player Declan Rice, and the Athletic claims the club could soon turn its attention elsewhere.
The outlet suggests that if talks over Rice continue to stall, the Blues could shift to Monaco youngster Aurelien Tchouameni as an alternative. The France youth international, 21, is highly-rated across Europe and would also come at a fraction of the cost of the £100-million-rated Rice. The central midfielder played a key role in helping Monaco clinch Champions League football for this season, and has previously been talked up by former Blue and Monaco teammate Cesc Fabregas.
Rice remains Chelsea's top choice but the clock is ticking...
18.26 BST: Aston Villa, Arsenal and Chelsea are all fighting to sign free agent goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli, the Daily Mail understands.
The 29-year-old recently became a free agent after 15 years on the books at Fulham, but he may not have to wait long to find a new home. Bettinelli, who was once called up to the senior England team although he didn't see game action, played last season on loan in the Championship for Middlesbrough.
Aston Villa are keen to find a backup for Emi Martinez, while Arsenal, and Chelsea are also looking to add depth at the position.

The 30-year-old winger, whose contract recently expired at Crystal Palace, has played 243 times in the Premier League split between Palace, Newcastle, Tottenham, and QPR, and recently played under new Toffees boss Rafa Benitez during the 2016 season at Newcastle. Everton will be the 13th English club that the attack-minded Towensend has played for.

15.55 BST: Goal reports that Bayern Munich are in talks with Barcelona over a loan deal for Sergi Roberto.
Roberto, 29, played just 15 matches last season and could be behind Sergino Dest and Emerson in the pecking order at right-back this year.
Having made his first-team debut in 2010, the versatile midfielder/defender could move on over the summer, with the club keen to reduce his wages if he extends his contract beyond 2022.
Bayern are keen to sign a new right-back as Bouna Sarr has not impressed since arriving in October 2020.

Carson, 35, joined in 2019, initially on a one-year loan deal from Derby which was then extended for another season.

"To be around Pep and his backroom staff is fantastic and I feel I have learnt so much since I joined in 2019. The lads made me feel at home straight away and I have loved every second of my two years here. To commit for another year was such an easy decision. I want to continue pushing the other goalkeepers we have here and I want to make sure my experience rubs off on them."
14.43 BST: The Athletic says that Chelsea could move for Stuttgart's Sasa Kalajdzic as an alternative to Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland.
Haaland, 20, is rated at €180m by Dortmund before a €75m release clause comes into effect next summer. But a cheaper option could be Austria international Kalajdzic, who netted 16 goals in 33 Bundesliga games for Stuttgart last season.
The 6-foot-7 striker is still only 24 and valued at around €40m by his club.
Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski and Southampton's Danny Ings are also on Chelsea's shortlist up front.

Official terms have not been agreed to but there is an expectation the deal will get done, possibly by the end of the week. Arango has scored 20 goals in 46 games for the Colombian club over the past two years, where he is on loan from Benfica.
Assuming the transfer is finalized, Arango is expected to be on the LAFC books using Targeted Allocation Money and would be deployed at striker, mostly playing in between wingers Diego Rossi and Carlos Vela.
The link was first reported by Colombian journalist Diego Rueda.

"I'm thankful to Real Salt Lake for this opportunity. It has been a long time since I can say a place has been my home and I look forward to continue doing the things I've been doing - scoring goals for this club and for the fans," Rubin said in Monday's announcement. "Ultimately, I want to help the team win and be successful and hopefully one day winning MLS Cup. Sources have told ESPN that United monitoring the 18-year-old's situation at Rennes and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also keen to add a midfielder to his squad.
Camavinga has one year left on his Rennes contract and the club president said they are willing to let the midfielder leave for the right price.
"One of the priorities is to reduce the squad," Holveck told French radio station RMC. "We still have eight or nine players who need to leave. There also remains the situation with Eduardo.
"Discussions are still ongoing, everything is open, either for a departure during this transfer window -- if an offer satisfies everyone -- or to extend [Camavinga's deal]. He won't leave for cheap, we've had a lot of discussions but nothing is complete one way or another."

Boe Risa has spent the majority of her playing career in Noway and Sweden, with stints at Arna-Bjornar, Goteborg FC and Sandviken since her senior debut in 2012. This will be her first time playing in the WSL.

"Frank plays as an eight in our system, he is very good at getting from box to box and will be valuable to us when we don't have the ball. He has come from the Danish league and was one of the best midfield players in that league. We think he has the potential to develop further. All the coaches here are looking forward to working with Frank and pushing him to a higher level."

Since then Romero has failed to establish himself in the starting XI last season as Mallorca secured promotion back to La Liga and has decided to try a new experience abroad.
Meanwhile, AS Roma are in advanced negotiations to sign Palmeiras defender Matias Vina in a deal worth around €13m, according to ESPN Brasil.
The Serie A side are looking to bolster their options at left-back after Italy star Leonardo Spinazzola suffered a serious injury during Euro 2020.
ESPN Brasil added that Palmeiras are also exploring the market for a new left-back as they are already preparing for life without Vina.

Barca are not convinced by the conditions presented by Atletico for the deal to be completed and are looking at other alternatives.
Atletico do not want to pay Griezmann's high wages, while there is also the issue of the difference in transfer value between the French forward and Saul. Barca want certain players to be included as part of the swap deal that Atletico are not willing to place on the negotiating table.
09.44 BST: Real Madrid right-back Alvaro Odriozola is considering joining AC Milan on loan, according to El Transistor.
Odriozola made 13 league appearances for Madrid last season and has been told he will not get much playing time under Carlo Ancelotti next season.
AC Milan are willing to take Odriozola on loan with a purchase option included in the deal, an offer that Real Madrid would be open to accepting.
Odriozola joined Madrid from Real Sociedad in 2018 and had a brief spell on loan at Bayern Munich before returning to Los Blancos in August 2020. He has a contract with Real Madrid until June 2024.
09.25 BST: Tottenham are closing on a deal for Atalanta keeper Pierluigi Gollini, says the BBC.

09.02 BST: Bayer Leverkusen winger Demarai Gray could be set for a return to the Premier League with Everton, Sky reports.

The 24-year-old cemented his place in the club's history last season by scoring the winning goal in the FA Cup final victory over Chelsea.
Tielemans started four of Belgium's five matches at Euro 2020, including the round-of-16 win over Portugal.
08.00 BST: Manchester United are set to seek a solution to their interest in Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane before turning their attention to other targets to ensure they stay within their budget for the summer transfer window, sources have told ESPN's Rob Dawson.
United have been encouraged that a deal for Varane is possible after entering into negotiations with the Frenchman's representatives over personal terms. Once an agreement is in place, they will look to begin talks with Madrid over a fee but sources have told ESPN that funds are limited after committing £72.9m on a deal for Jadon Sancho.
Reports in Spain have suggested Madrid would accept around €50m for the 28-year-old, who has entered the last year of his contract, but there have been suggestions at Old Trafford that even that would be too high and a compromise would have to be found.
Because of the financial constraints, United will first assess what it will take to bring in Varane -- the top target for Solskjaer and the recruitment team -- before deciding whether it is possible to pursue other targets.
Could Lewandowski reunite with Guardiola at Man City?
Julien Laurens explores the possibility of Robert Lewandowski going to Manchester City.
- Manchester City are interested in signing promising left-back Nuno Mendes, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. The 19-year-old impressed for Sporting CP this season, earning his Portugal debut in March and a call-up to the Euro 2020 squad. Sporting have reportedly set a €50m valuation to sign the full-back, which City are not willing to match -- with their valuation closer to the €30m mark.
- Everton have made winger Dwight McNeil their top transfer target this summer, reports the Mirror. The 21-year-old joins a number of wide targets for new Toffees boss Rafa Benitez, who is looking for players to supply Dominic Calvert-Lewin up front. McNeil still has three years left on his deal, meaning Burnley could demand more than £30m for the England Under-21 international's services. McNeil has nearly registered 100 league appearances, despite his age, with 23 goal involvements in that time.
- Barcelona are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Donny Van de Beek on loan, according to Mundo Deportivo. Ronald Koeman's side are reportedly in the market for a midfielder with links to Wijnaldum, Saul and Renato Sanches over the past few months. The 24-year-old has seen little action in a United shirt since joining for €40m in September last year but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suggested the midfielder won't leave permanently, making a loan deal more likely.
- Napoli have set a €30m valuation for clubs to sign winger Lorenzo Insigne should he reject a new contract this summer. Corriere dello Sport reports that Napoli are set to offer a new deal to the 30-year-old, who has one year left on his deal, but they have a backup plan to move him on should the offer be turned down. The Napoli captain helped Italy to success at Euro 2020 this summer, scoring twice in six appearances. However, he is a long-time Napoli fan, coming through the youth ranks all the way to captaincy, so may not want to go.
- Atletico Madrid are eyeing a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Rafa Mir, according to the Daily Mail. The 24-year-old only has a year left on his deal in the Midlands and his impressive form on loan at Huesca has attracted the Spanish champions, who are looking for a backup forward. Mir scored 13 goals with Huesca last season but hasn't made a league appearance for Wolves in nearly three years. New Wolves boss Bruno Lage would be willing to let the player go and views Barcelona's Martin Braithwaite as an potential replacement.
