Brazil police: No grounds for Neymar rape charges

Brazilian police said they have decided there are no grounds to bring rape charges against Brazil star Neymar. They are now investigating whether the woman who accused him of rape filed a false report.

Sao Paulo police investigator Juliana Lopes Bussacos announced the decision on Tuesday.

Brazilian model Najila Trindade said the 27-year-old striker raped her in a Paris hotel in May. He denied the accusation and said their relations were consensual.

The Associated Press doesn't name people who allege sexual assault unless they make their identities public, which Trindade did in several interviews.

Neymar is currently on a preseason tour of Asia with his club, Paris Saint-Germain.
